Your first visit to Gulfshore Oral Surgery, PA will consist of a comprehensive examination performed by the oral surgeon as well as an explanation of your diagnosis and treatment options. For routine procedures, we can often perform the surgery on the same day as the consultation. Sometimes, however, due to a patient's complicated medical history or a more involved surgery we may need to schedule a second appointment to provide treatment.
Please assist us by bringing the following items to the consultation visit:
- A completed referral slip from the referring doctor.
- Any applicable X-rays provided from the referring doctor.
- A list of all current medications.
- Any medical or dental insurance cards.
**IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at the consultation visit.
A comprehensive examination is mandatory for any patient who wishes to undergo IV anesthesia. Patients may not have anything to eat or drink for at least 8 hours prior to surgery. You must also have a responsible adult with you to drive you home and stay with you while you recover.
X-Rays: If your dentist has taken recent x-rays, you may ask them to forward them to our office. If there is not enough time for x-rays to be mailed, you may pick them up and bring them with you to your appointment. We may need to take additional films at our office to complete your examination.
